Absolutely dreadful experience

Absolutely dreadful experience. Our flight was delayed and when we got to the Drivalia desk - it was closed and the staff had gone home. The staff did not leave any instructions or keys. We had paid in full before we arrived to Alghero airport. We had to get a taxi to our accommodation which cost €150 euros and the next day we had to get a taxi back to the airport to collect the car. There were no apologies offered. There was no offer to help with the cost of the taxis. We had made contact from Dublin Airport to advise of our delay and also the amount of flights through Alghero airport is so small it is very easy for airport companies to recognise delayed flights. On our return to the airport when our holiday was finished we spoke to a staff member who assured us that management would make contact as it was recognised that the staff member on duty had made a massive mistake but 5 months later we still have not been contacted. This was our 12th year to travel to Sardinia and our 3rd/4th year to use Drivalia- based on our dreadful experience it will be our last considering the taxi fares were equal to the cost of the flight!
