I rented a car from DRIVUS because they appeared to be a reputable car rental company. The rental agreement confirmed that DRIVUS was my contractual party.
However, when I went to pick up the rental car at the airport in Muscat, it was a partner of DRIVUS, International Rent a Car, that delivered the car to me. Everything seemed fine until I returned the car and was due to receive my deposit back. The rental company said the car was in good condition and that I would receive my deposit refund within 30 days. They explained that the 30-day delay was because it could take that long for any speeding fines to be registered. This seemed reasonable.
It has now been more than 50 days and no speeding fines have been registered. Nevertheless, I have not received my deposit back. When I contact the rental company, they say everything is fine and that the money will be returned, but it never is.
I have reported the incident to the police.
