I received a rug that was materially defective. The printed pattern was so out of focus and blurry it caused physical discomfort to look at. This was immediately obvious upon unrolling the rug once for inspection. It was never used.
The product does not match the clear, sharp images advertised on DShop’s website. This is not a minor colour variation or screen issue. It is a manufacturing defect and the rug is not of acceptable quality.
Despite providing multiple photos and clearly citing Australian Consumer Law, DShop refused to acknowledge the fault. Instead, they repeatedly attempted to reframe the issue as “change of mind” and only offered store credit or a paid return, which is not a lawful remedy for faulty goods.
General disclaimers about printing or lighting do not override consumer rights. A gift voucher is not a refund.
The matter is now being managed by my bank due to DShop’s refusal to resolve it appropriately.
I would not recommend purchasing from DShop if you expect products to match their descriptions or if you expect your consumer rights to be respected when something goes wrong.
