I consolidated my daughters student loans back on Nov 18-2025. However, the first bill was not due until until Jan 11th, 2026,for an amount of $1,606.56, with the starting balance of: $208,559.53
Being a responsible and trying to get my loan under control, and not run away, i started to pay early.
Jan 6h, 2026->Paid $300 as a test of the system. It cleared the next day, but all of it went into interest and not yet due day, but balance has increased to: $209,865.53 ???? Fishy?
Jan 8th, 2026-> Paid $2000, it didn't show up for 5 days. By the 20th, it didn't show up, called customer service and spoke to the Mgr. BONNIE EMIG. She said to give her a day to investigate and get back. I even called Schwab and get the debit trace number to provide Bonnie. She never called back the next day. I then checked online around midnight 1/21/2026 and saw the amount was received and credited to my account, but it was credited 12 days after i sent it out by Electronics bill payment, where the earlier only took one day? This is on purpose, to wipe out my credits for reducing the principal. I am documenting this very accurately so i can potential see a lawyer later. Of the $2000 payment,  $300.34 went to Principal and ($1,699.66) went to interest, which is more than the monthly payment? I called up customer service, the lady said the interest was dated back sinc Nov 18th when I opened the account. I asked her then why is my first monthly bill was only for $1,606.56 ? She couldn't answer? As it stands at the end of 1/21/2026 with $2300 total payment, my balance actually increased to: $209,865.53
Jan 27th, 2026-> I made a $10,000 payment and as of 1/28th, it has not showed up yet, but I will track it and update if i can.

Update: 1/29/2026: $10k payment received on 1/29/2026. Took only 2 days this time. Why did the previous $2K took 12 days and not until I called up and provided the debit trace number? Aren’t you using latest technology or Someone stopped cold turkey from drinking their morning coffee? $912.06 went into interest. $9087.94 went into principal(backward calculated based on previous and new balance). New balance is now $199,077.93. They do not break down clearly for you percentage went into interest or amount and percentage that went into principal or actual amount? Its easier to change the rules this way 😜
Still the mobile app is full of bugs, must do 2FA every single time and doesn’t show payment history completely, if at all? Need to log onto web for that and not all transactions are shown. Very difficult to navigate, unorganized. Written by Soneone with no financial knowledge to make things more intuitive!
