Ms. Pharr did not meet any of the expectations I had for a first time client. First off, she was very judgemental about the medication I have been on from my previous provider. She told me that the only reason anyone should ever have to take a Xanax is if i've been in a car accident or if I roll over in bed and my spouse is dead. I couldn't make this up if I tried. I am more than willing to do what I need to do to transition into a new provider but I refuse to be judged and have my previous care judged the way she was doing so. Interactions like this scare me but for others. Luckily, I'm in a place where my mental health is managed and I was able to process all of this with my spouse and use my tools to cope. Someone in a more dire situation might not deal with this as well and I hope she'll think of that next time in how she talks to a new client. I even called, who i guess is her supervisor to talk about it and he was defensive, rude, and dismissive. This is not the way a mental health patient should feel especially from people that are supposed to help them. Again, you could and should do better.
