One frame damaged

I ordered two custom 400mm by 500mm oak frames with AR glazing. Delivery was quite fast, and they used a reliable courier (DHL). Unfortunately one frame had a gouge or depression on one side, and gouges on the front and the surface nearby was torn up. I suspect the damage was present on the wood before it was assembled into a frame, as the frames were very well packed during transit. I contacted the company and Rob promptly replied offering a return and full refund. I decided to see if I could instead repair the damage. I repeatedly spat on the damaged wood, causing it to gradually expand, and then sanded it smooth. The end result is now free of damage although the grain on that frame is ugly compared to my five other oak frames, including one from this company. The frames came with fixings. I am used to pre-installed fixings on the backboard. These came with hooks and screws. The hook is screwed to the wooden frame. It is tedious to attach the hook, and it holds the frame slightly away from the wall. I much prefer the fixings on my other frames, but tastes may differ. I ordered AR glazing for both as they will be near lighting. However, the glazing made my photos look lifeless, so I do not recommend it. Rob told me that I could reverse the glazing, so that the matt surface is against the print, and the prints now look good. I don’t recall any instructions pointing out that the glazing should be inserted with one specific face outwards, but I might be mistaken. I give 1 star for the product as one frame was damaged before transit and 5 stars for the customer service.
