CONSIDER THIS BEFORE ENTERING ECOM CAPITAL

During my time at the company, it became clear to me that leadership within the Dev Team did not prioritize the well-being, workload capacity, or long-term sustainability of the people responsible for delivering the company’s services. The ratio of incoming clients to the number of Dev Team members assigned to support them was frequently disproportionate. In many cases, one person was handling a workload that would realistically require two people. This imbalance created continuous pressure on the Dev Team and, in my experience, affected the quality of work. Burnout was common. Despite this, I did not observe meaningful workload management, resource planning, or support systems being implemented to help stabilize operations. From my perspective, leadership roles within the Dev Team appeared more focused on securing personal standing within the company rather than advocating for the team. Internal decisions sometimes seemed influenced by office politics instead of objective assessments of workload or performance. Team members had limited ability to raise concerns, and I saw little evidence of leadership actively protecting the team’s well-being.Although some leaders possess strong individual skills, leading a team requires more than personal competence. It involves setting clear expectations, providing support, maintaining fair workloads, and ensuring that operations are sustainable. These responsibilities were often overlooked. Instead, priorities leaned toward rapid output, client appeasement, and revenue generation—even when this placed additional strain on the Dev Team and affected overall consistency.Because the Dev Team serves as the backbone of the company’s operations, issues in this area can impact clients. High turnover, unclear standards, and heavy workloads may lead to inconsistent deliverables and communication challenges. For clients:Unstable internal operations and unsupported teams can affect project timelines, quality, and consistency. It’s worth considering how a company treats its core team, as this directly influences the reliability of the service you receive. For job applicants:If you are looking for a work environment with fair workload distribution, transparent leadership, and opportunities for healthy professional growth, you may want to reassess before joining. The combination of internal politics, limited advocacy, and demanding workloads may not provide long-term stability.
