Our tour director was very knowledgeable about the monuments, memorials, and buildings in Washington, D.C. and, despite the government shutdown, kept our schedule full of tours and visits. I understand that feeding a large group in a timely manner can be a challenge, but the pre-arranged food on the trip left much to be desired. My preference would have been to have the bus drop us in an area with multiple restaurants to choose from and let everyone find and pay for their own meal. Our 2-hour bus ride from the airport back to our hometown was pretty sketchy - I would recommend better vetting of bus companies!
