The entire application process involves a lot of paperwork, and the company will tell you how they can save you that work. Not so, and at least in Pennsylvania, there are more informed and less expensive options - even free services. Admittedly, it is difficult digging through the haphazard record-keeping of two people in their nineties. However, when those records are supplied, you expect that they will be passed on to the Medicaid people in a legible format. Some of the records had to be photographed, but the company apparently did not look at the scans derived from those images. The company also got faxed the same records several times, but kept asking for the same records claiming that they had never received them. When I finally got hold of an actual individual within the state Medicaid program, they asked me why we had hired someone that did not know the state requirements. I was very close to getting the approval by bypassing the company, but my 95-year-old father-in-law passed away early this morning - too late for any Medicaid assistance. The original consultation with their sales person was at the beginning of September 2024 - today is July of 2025. It is not the $6500 consultation charge that hurts so much, but rather the months that followed, having to retain caregivers on a 24/7 basis. Don't waste your time with this company - you might as well look into the process yourself, because it will not take any more of your time. Their "work" is based on your hours of work, and from what I can tell, rather incompetent at that. We never got to the so-called "Medicaid approved" annuity - but it is my understanding that those types of annuities are available elsewhere for a lower cost.
