The property itself was great, but the excessive and opportunistic cleaning charges completely ruined our experience. We were charged a staggering €900 in total for cleaning, despite leaving the place in a reasonable condition — dishes were done, most rubbish was removed, and only minor, easily wipeable marks were present.To make matters worse, €500 was charged to my card without consent. When challenged, Emerald only refunded €50, acknowledging that the dishes were, in fact, clean. They initially attempted to charge €50 just for doing dishes — on top of the already high cleaning fee we had agreed to.The justification for some of the extra charge included removing five items from the fridge. No damage was done to the property, and it was left in a normal post-rental state. Sadly, this experience has ensured we won’t be returning. Avoid.
