I would not dream of using Emma Selfridge again, nor would I recommend her or any firm she works at to anyone seeking conveyancing services. My experience was deeply disappointing. Emma came across as condescending, slow, and unprofessional throughout our interactions. Despite initially seeming to turn things around after a rocky start, she abruptly terminated her services without completing the conveyancing work, leaving me, my wife, my broker, and even the lender in a difficult position that required starting over and caused unnecessary delays. The reason she gave for walking away was that she believed I didn’t "trust her", simply because I followed up directly with the search provider and the local authority to get clarity on progress. To make matters worse, she falsely accused me of saying things I did not say during our phone calls, seemingly in an attempt to paint me in a bad light. While there's no concrete evidence (sadly they didn't record phone calls), it is my strong opinion that she misrepresented our conversations to justify her actions. In one particularly unprofessional moment, when I asked if our calls were recorded, she retorted that they “don’t need to because they don’t usually have abusive callers.” This was completely unfounded, as our discussions were always polite and civil, if a little awkward. The unnecessary termination of services resulted in unpaid work on her side and additional work, stress, and disruption for everyone else involved. I would caution anyone considering her services to think carefully. My experience was a costly mistake I won’t repeat. Here's an update in response to Emma's 'edit' of her original response 22 minutes ago, 18 months after I left the review. This is definitely not impacting my mental health, and I am not the one who came to make an edit 18 months later. (My edit was prompted TP system email after her edit).I just re-read my review and every point stands. Maybe Emma has changed, hopefully we all improve with time but that doesn't change my experience and my review is an honest representation of it.Whilst I don't normally give it a second thought, someone recently mentioned Red Kite Solicitors in my presence and I unloaded on them saying, I have not used RK but if Emma Selfridge still works there I would give the conveyancing department a very wide birth. This is my honest advice. That said, if Emma ever wants to apologise for what she did and admit she was dishonest about me, I'll be ready to forgive and forget. On the plus side, as a direct result of Emma's actions I found an amazing, prompt, knowledegable, patient, honest, conscientous solicitor and I have used him ever since.
