I used Emperor masonry paint on both the front and back of my house about three years ago and it still looks as good as the day it was painted.
I followed their recommended system and used the Emperor primer/undercoat before applying the top coat. The finish has held up really well and has been very consistent across both elevations of the house.
For comparison, our next-door neighbours had their house painted at around the same time using Sandtex, and they’ve already had to put scaffolding back up and have painters redo it because moisture started coming through from behind the paint and causing it to fail.
Based on my experience, the breathable system really seems to make a difference. Very happy with the result and how well it has lasted so far.
