The deadline set by the Energy Ombudsman for expediting a connection to the gas supply by Scottish Power has now expired, but our supply remains with our earlier supplier (So Energy). It is now nearly eight months since we requested the original transfer but, despite constant personal contact with the company and no apparent explanation for the lack of success, the intervention by the Energy Ombudsman has proven totally ineffective.
Companies should be warned that large penalties will be applied for failure to meet the deadline for resolving complaints, including greater compensation for inconvenience and wasting customers' time.
