PharmXtra (not PharmaXtra) did their part - 5 stars for them - but DPD did not.

The first driver never delivered. I complained to PharmXtra (pointless), but the failure is clearly with DPD.

On the next attempt I received the parcel by sitting outside in the street with an umbrella and with a painted sign saying “DPD ->”. A different driver completed the delivery.

Ironically he knew exactly where to go, and had a delivery for a neighbour. Typical life jokes.

The prescription-to-dispatch side was quick:
I made the order at 01:00 the (native-named) Scottish GP approved the consultation at 08:00 and it was dispatched the same day around 13:00.
The only complaints are that the viatris branded alprazolam is expensive (no Ksalol), but I'm paying mostly for a legal prescription, not the tablets - and the courier broke the chain.

The xanax tablets themselves seem legit, appear as blistered purple lozenges with a score - they do taste like xanax. The max dose prescription dose is standard as expected - 0.5mg, up to 3x a day.
The price for 60 tablets seems fair, since it comes with a prescription. Other suggested 4 star pharms (scroll right down) offer the meds at a lower cost, but nothing's prescribed.

If you are going to order (no reason not to), install the DPD app BEFORE and add explicit delivery instructions, plus a clear photo of your house (and where you want the parcel left, not that they will do that with ones from the pharm).

Many drivers are not strong in English, so the photo matters - esp if you later need to complain, when they say, "sorry we missed you" and post a photo of up the road.

I ended up spending time on the phone with DPD. Also - their drivers are apparently pushed to deliver around 60 parcels in 2 hours, based on the tracker - physically impossible, it seems, but Gursharan was only 20 mins into the 1 hrs timeslot. I wasn't waiting out in the street too long, but I shouldn't have to do that - I should be able to trust the delivery will arrive.

To discuss a delivery, call DPD from the phone number linked to the order (DPD: 0121 2750 500).

DPD’s website also has a complaints section with a PDF listing office addresses, and you can press 0 to reach the "local depot" (indian call centre) if you call the number. Expect a short wait - for me 20mins.

I have written a complaint letter to both DPD and PharmXtra. If you have the same issue, it is worth writing to PharmXtra to request a refund of the postage, which will cause them to request a refund from DPD, which will cause DPD to start doing better or go bust, and to push PharmXtra to offer a Royal Mail option.

Their listed address on the invoice is:

EU Meds
Office 1204, Tiffany Tower
Al Thanyah Fifth
Plot No. 888
Dubai, P.O Box 487307

DPD may be fine for you. They are not fine for me - I guess only 1 in 4 deliveries actually arrive. The app does let you redirect to a pickup point, eg post office, but I do not know whether PharmXtra allow redirection.

Be aware that after 2-3 missed attempts, parcels are returned to sender, and PharmXtra appear to offer no refunds or really any communication at all. If DPD don't deliver - you've lost your money.

Beyond the weak customer service and choosing a shabby courier (at least it's not EVRI!), my only other complaint is the price: it is roughly double some alternatives. But as I said - you're paying for the legal prescription.

That's the BIG upside, that PharmXtra do actually prescribe. It can help to have evidence of past prescriptions, which is not supplied (they also don't inform your GP, because you can't use PharmXtra if you state that you are registered with a GP), which I was a little disappointed about.

The box, however, IS labelled with the dispensing pharmacy and your details, which means no legal worries for using your own initiative to seek treatment, rather than submitting yourself to the mercy of the cash-strapped NHS who won't let you pay for better or more effective drugs.

Finally - now I have the DPD app set up with directions, photos and also to send directly to the post office (not my house) - perhaps DPD will successfully deliver more often.

I bet a lot of the 1 star reviewers wish they knew that before, too...

Rating: 3 out of 5, lost 2 to poor courier choice and lack of communication - if you want 4 stars, reply to this review, guys.
