We returned our car to Izmir Airport on 21/06/25, and as of 13/08/25 are yet to have our €300 security deposit returned. We have made multiple phone calls and emails to attempt to get this resolved and are yet to hear anything back. We waited 30 working days, as advised, before emailing the Customer Service UK email address on 01/06/25, and only received a NoReply, automated response on 06/08/25 with no real update or additional information regarding our query- it was clear that it was sent automatically and not by a real person.Europcar are contractually obliged to return this money to us, yet we do not have it- or any correspondence from them about it at all!We will begin pursuing legal action if we do not hear back or receive our money back by the end of the week. This is unfortunate because the car itself was lovely and the staff in Turkey very helpful, and the staff who assisted in making the booking were also helpful. We only went with Europcar because we believed them to be reputable, but will not be using them again after this experience.If Europcar would like to reach out as a response to this review then I would very much welcome it, as all we really want at this point is our money back. I will be happy to provide our booking reference if so.
