Last night I flew to England from the Netherlands to visit my dying father. Despite the fact I'd already paid online for the booking and had all the mandatory documents outlined in the confirmation email, the customer service reps from Europcar wouldn't let me pick up the car from Luton Airport because I didn't have a return flight booked (due to the fact I didn't yet know when my dad would die, when the funeral would take place, etc.). They cancelled my booking. I had to hire a car from another company at three times the price. I will never use Europcar again.
