My wife was traveling urgently to visit a critically ill family member and was emotionally vulnerable. Europcar staff seized the opportunity to pressure her into a vehicle upgrade she never asked for, slipping in a £142+ charge that she was never made aware of — all disguised beneath a rushed signature.Let me be clear: this was not a misunderstanding. This was exploitation. A predatory upsell tactic targeting someone in distress. And when we raised the issue, Europcar HQ responded with a robotic, tone-deaf statement dismissing it entirely — citing a "signed document" as though it excused the behavior.Worse still, the Cardiff Europcar branch reviewed the situation and told us clearly: 'this would never happen under our watch.' So yes — the Stansted team is acting on its own agenda and damaging the Europcar brand in the process.This was manipulative, unethical, and cowardly.
