My family and I rented a car for 4 days from Europcar in Bristol Airport. On return, it was checked by a member of their staff who confirmed all was fine. A day later I received an email with the receipt which had an additional £45 charge, with no explanation as to why. I emailed their customer service team who said it was for soiling inside the vehicle and provided photos of the foot area of two seats. There was some dry grass and a little sand, nothing abnormal and certainly nothing excessive. I insisted on speaking with a manager and escalating my query as it was totally unacceptable. The customer service agent simply closed my case saying it was resolved. In addition, when I collected the car the fuel was only 3/4 full, not full as agreed, and there was large black scuff down one side (white car) which foolishly I cleaned for them! We've rented many cars from other Bristol airport rental companies and never had a problem. We will never use Europcar again.
