I had a terrible experience with Check 24 and Europcar when booking a rental car. I reserved a car with Europcar through Check 24 in Copenhagen for EUR 232.21 and paid a deposit of EUR 63.11. Despite clearly providing my Danish address when making the booking, I was informed upon arrival that Check 24 bookings are not valid for residents of Denmark at Europcar, something that was not mentioned during the booking process.As a result, I was forced to make a new reservation on the spot, which came with worse conditions – a smaller car, no unlimited mileage, and an inflated price of EUR 375.83. On top of that, the deposit I had already paid was not taken into account. The entire situation was frustrating, and their lack of transparency and poor customer service in addressing this issue leaves much to be desired. Despite multiple follow-ups, I’ve had no resolution for the additional costs I was forced to bear.
