I was due to board the last train of the evening when they decided to cancel - they’re supposed to provide hotels and taxis to stranded passengers. I took their offer and went to the hotel that they offered only to be told that there was no room. I was in the same predicament as some other passengers. I couldn’t find another hotel for the evening as there was no clear guarantee I’d be reimbursed and at 11pm in Paris isn’t exactly the place you want to be frantically searching for policies on hotel reimbursement. I therefore slept ok the floor at the airport - as a doctor I was obliged to return on time for my clinics. Eurostar refunded the train but has given a half assed apology and absolutely NO compensation for the predicament they left me and a whole lot of other passengers in. I’m filling a complaint to the Rail Ombudsman
