Buyer Beware: Evelyn's Boutique is a Chinese Based Scam!

I had a similar experience as described by other reviewers. I thought that I had done my due diligence by looking at their website which stated they were located in San Francisco and were having a relocation sale. They were moving to Florida. I have been burned before by other internet sales .... so I purposely check their return policy. I placed my order and then the red flag warnings started appearing. My tracking indicated that it was arriving from a mainland location.... not San Francisco. The packages arrived on a staggered schedule. I ordered two pairs of sandals .... neither one of them remotely resembled what I had ordered. One was definitely the wrong size. The summer dresses were poorly designed and again were not what had been described or how they appeared on the models. Inferior product quality was rampant as a standard. When I emailed customer service to inquire about initiating a return, the customer service team responded two days later inquiring why and to provide my issues. Yet another red flag .... I suspected that the 30 day return guarantee was going to be a problem. Two days later, I received a very lengthy email that noted I was going to be spending an arm and a leg in returning the products to China without any guarantee of actually receiving the expected refund. They did offer to provide a product refund credit for 10% of my expenditures and that I could keep the crappy products they had sent to me. I replied that I wasn't pleased with any of the options. I also let them know that I was going to be reporting them to Instagram and Facebook hoping that these behemoth companies might block them as a vendor permitted to do business on their platforms. However, I did call my credit card company to file a merchant dispute. Thankfully, I received a refund for almost the entire amount. If you have experienced this issue, I would recommend that you try that route. They did want proof that I had attempted to remedy the situation on my own .... which I was able to provide, thankfully. Lessons continuing to be learned. Stick with well known clothing retailers to avoid being caught in this situation. As for the star rating system, I wish I could use a negative number instead of rating as a "one star"!
