Reflecting on it, the procedures, such as a stretch mark treatment, were described in a robotic marketing tone rather than with clear clinical explanations. This was unsurprising given the founder's background as an internationally recognized brand strategist. The focus seemed more on branding than on straightforward, evidence-based discussions about risks and mechanisms. When I tried to clarify my understanding by summarizing it more plainly (like asking if the treatment was merely microneedling), the tone of communication noticeably changed. From then on, it felt like my informed questions were unwelcome. After being assured that my booking was correct, I asked a reasonable question about flexibility since their artist only worked on Mondays. I wanted to know if there were alternative artists available who could treat me using their inks. In response, all my appointments were abruptly canceled without warning, and I was dismissed in a manner that was shockingly bizarre. There was no attempt to discuss, clarify, or de-escalate the situation. The decision was made unilaterally. What made this particularly distressing was the absence of trauma-informed care. The artist laughed when I expressed concerns about my allergies and suggested that worrying would 'manifest' a bad outcome, which felt dismissive of my legitimate concerns. Being told they had suddenly decided not to assist was jarring, especially in light of my traumatic scars, which they were aware of. I have since looked more closely at the practitioner I was booked with. She seems to have a limited visible portfolio, faces unanswered criticisms on social media, and practices that diverge from common industry standards (like stating that certain procedures can't be performed after neutralization, which many established artists do). This raises questions about her experience. She also mentioned her employment at the company was due to her friendship with the owner, which made me wonder about the independence and accountability within their processes. Overall, the impression I am left with is of a company that prioritizes branding and growth over careful, humane, client-centered practice. Given their work on people's bodies—especially concerning scars, intimate areas, and clients with allergies or trauma histories—this approach feels and is unsafe. It's also cruel. I would strongly advise anyone with medical sensitivities, who requires trauma-aware communication, who asks informed questions, or who seeks expertise, to think very carefully before engaging with this service. What I experienced was not merely 'business.' The sudden withdrawal of care, dismissal of allergy concerns, and silencing informed questions about treatment are destabilizing. As the only brand that marketed itself as free of my allergens, I am now left without options, with old wounds and scars, just as their sales pitch had convinced me otherwise. Finally, I’m left with a mark from their patch test that is now useless since I’ll have to seek another provider. I view this as bodily harm and a daily reminder of their treatment. I am considering legal options.
