I rarely leave negative feedback, but I feel this experience needs to be shared.I took out specialist insurance for high value camera equipment after being asked to call so the cover could be tailored to my needs. During a lengthy conversation, I clearly explained the value of my equipment and specifically discussed cover limits when working away from home.I was assured I had cover up to £12,500. However, when I later needed to make a claim, it was rejected because items over £2,000 had not been individually named something that was never made clear during the sales process.To make matters worse, I was told the original call recordings cannot be retrieved.This has left me feeling that the policy sold to me did not reflect what was discussed or what I reasonably believed I was paying for.I have now cancelled the policy and raised a formal complaint, as I believe transparency and clarity are essential when customers are insuring high value equipment.
