I purchased travel insurance for my flight—offered directly by Expedia through TD and their third-party provider—at the time of booking. When I had to cancel my trip due to a medical emergency, I was passed from one party to another, each pointing the finger at someone else. Expedia, the insurer, and the airline all deflected responsibility. No one took ownership, and I was left without support or a refund. Expedia ultimately kept the money. The process was confusing, frustrating, and unkind—especially during an already difficult time. For a long-time customer and frequent flyer, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. Expedia should partner with a reputable insurer and establish clear, compassionate processes. I’ve decided to cancel my TD credit card and switch my rewards program.
