A guide certainly isn’t needed for most people on the Lago Cerro Castillo hike. The trail is very well marked and traveled. But I did not know that ahead of time, and as my companions couldn’t join me on the hike, it was nice to have the company.My original guide, Pere, unfortunately couldn’t make it because of an injury, but he arranged with another, Javier, so there was no interruption at all. Javier was very good to work with.Communication from Explore-share was excellent throughout.
