We bought travel insurance cover from Ian at Explorer for the first time in 2024. Never having had a problem before, we just assumed it was the sensible thing to do. How fortunate we were because, in June, we had to make a claim on the policy as I had an injury at the airport just before we were due to fly out to Austria and unfortunately had to cancel our trip.We followed the claims process and a few weeks later, we received the payment for our costs (less the excess of course).The moral of the story is therefore, always take out travel insurance because you never know when trouble might strike.In respect of Explorer, their service has been exemplary and communications are always very friendly. I have described Ian as being similar to Dave Fishwick (if you don't know who he is, watch the film "Bank of Dave"). Not only is there a hint of similarity of appearance, the main feature is that, where 'Dave' cares for all his bank customers, Ian does exactly the same for all those who have bought their travel insurance with Explorer. There is no hard sell - just good, sensible advice for insurance at a very competitive price.
