The way Fabric club implements it’s…

The way Fabric club implements it’s policies is unacceptable. Last Saturday, September 30th, I went to the Red Axes event with my girlfriend. We were in Room One on the main stage and we were dancing. Suddenly, security people came and shone flashlights in my face and all they told me was to follow them. On the way out, they ostentatiously ignored me as I asked them what had happened. When we were outside the club, they told me that someone had reported inappropriate touching. We tried repeatedly to explain to them that such a thing never happened, and that we are out together not looking for more partners, but they were adamant. We also asked from them to talk to the people around us that were there and were speaking or dancing with us. So from there, where we were in a moment of excessive fun, we suddenly found ourselves on the street wondering why, and trying to digest an accusation that goes against what I stand for as a human. This came as a shock and a kick in the stomach. I am a person who cares for and respects the ones next to me. Me and my partner enjoy ourselves going out and dancing and meeting new friendly people everytime. It’s a shame for us who pick up glasses from the floor so that other people don’t fall on them, help others when they are too drunk or had a bad cocktail of everything, and have fun not only in a self-centred way but also by while making sure that the people around us are well, to receive such an accusation. I believe that such reports should be thoroughly investigated to avoid such injustice. The Fabric, since it is so strict in their ways of applying their Safe space policies, should make sure to have the necessary information in every case so that it IS safe for everyone. Either with the file from a security camera, or by inquiring with the people around or members of stuff that we came across in the same night. So in this particular club where entry control is so strict while at the same time people entered that night from the smoking area without being checked for what they may be carrying with them; where toxic masculine behaviours are obvious while someone like me receives such an unfair treatment, something really needs to improve in their ways..
