The only reason I stick around on some Fandom-hosted wikis is for the collaborative effort.I haven't browsed any of their sites without an adblocker for close to 10 years, and for good reason. The wiki sites are more ad than wiki at this point, and are the annoying "in your face" kind that flood the page.Like a comment on a YouTube video said, using Fandom sites w/o an adblocker is like driving down a messy road and not using your windshield wipers as bugs, droppings, and leaves pile up there. It'll take me a whole day to name all of Fandom's en$**ttification efforts to deprive their wiki sites out of any joy, so I'll just name their ridiculous changes as a casual, rando who has used their wikis before.Garbage UI change they rolled out somewhere in 2025. An age old scummy move by any tech company.Taking a quick visit on a wiki's page and wanting to briefly compare previous edits to see what has changed in that page is no longer allowed without an account; you get register-gated.Even with an adblocker, stupid popups that a majority of the user base doesn't care about, like "Community Central" annoucements that you cannot filter out from others, and the huge sidebar popup about "related pages".
