I have taken my time before writing this review because I wanted it to be precise based on the whole experience from then to now.My surgery date was September 2022 but I had to submit as 2023.I had originally booked my surgery with another company and over time red flags appeared and I decided to cancel with them and lost my deposit. With hindsight I would say I was a little naive in the beginning up until I got talking with Ferit Fidan from Fibemed.With his help and advice I was able to gain a much better understanding of Turkish surgeons and also what standard of care I should expect.He was very transparent with me and not once did I feel he was just pushing for a surgery like a lot of Turkish reps do.I took my time and found different information on Prof Aycan and the more I saw the more I felt drawn to him.I arrived in Ankara on the 8th September 22 and was greeted by Ferit, I was taken to a beautiful hotel which I found to be very comfortable and had everything I needed for my recovery.My first visit to the Acibadem hospital was on the same day of my arrival and my first impressions were that it was very nice, modern and very clean. The nurses I saw that day were lovely there was a language barrier but I found using Google translate very helpful.I then went to meet Prof Aycan at his office, I found him to be an exceptional man, his English was good and so was his level of understanding.We discussed the surgery and addressed any concerns ( which was mainly the flying home) He reassured me that each day after the surgery I would greatly improve.The day of surgery I arrived at the hospital, I consulted with Prof Aycan and he marked me up, I was happy and ready to go.During my stay in the hospital the staff were amazing again I used the Google translate and I found I had no issues at all.The room I was in was cleaned regularly, my pain meds were kept on top of too.I can’t say I enjoyed the food but who does like hospital food ! Prof Aycan came back to hospital the night of surgery to check on things and then I saw him again the following morning which was all very reassuring.After 2 days I returned to the hotel, I struggled with getting up from the bed so I asked one of the maids for additional pillows which were a massive help.I found the maids to be very helpful to me as they were always on my floor and would help with anything, they really were an asset to the hotel.I visited Prof Aycan again at his office to have everything checked over and he was very happy with the results.He was correct when he told me things would get easier each day.I found that moving around often really helped and I drank plenty of water to flush my system.Flying home was not as difficult as I had thought it would be and I think at that stage in the process you are just glad at the prospect of getting home.My whole experience in Ankara with the Fibemed team and Prof Aycan was a very positive and uplifting one. The Fibemed team went above and beyond, nothing was an issue to them as they just wanted it all to be successful. They were on hand all the time, whilst in surgery they did not rest until they knew every thing was all well.From first speaking to Ferit Fidan I never envisaged that my surgery journey would be as amazing as this.Don’t get me wrong it is a hard journey and cannot be taken lightly, it entails a lengthy recovery period and is not a quick fix.You don’t come out of surgery and within a few weeks have the desired look you wanted it takes time and dedication, this is why I have taken so long to write my review.I am amazed by my results and would highly recommend Fibemed and Prof Aycan to anyone considering taking the surgery route. It does take up to a year for the results to throughly shine and sculpt properly.My scar is remarkable and very neat and has faded considerably over time, I never had any post op infections.I am starting to regain some sensation back in my tummy now too.The muscle repair has helped so much and my core strength is getting better and better as time goes on.In the future I would definitely return to Fibemed.
