So this is long winded but honestly its gone from good to bad from good to bad Ill bullet point. Good- advised they would be able to replate a ring and potentially replace its missing stone. Id advised I didn’t want the ring replating without the stone. Bad- Finematter replated the ring without telling me the stone couldn’t be replaced and sent back to me. Good- after the complaint I made they advised they would send me a full refund. I did say I would pay 50% but they acknowledged it was their mistake so they would take the hit. Bad- After a couple of weeks they came back to me and said actually they could replace the stone if I could source one and this service would be around £35-45. I agreed to go ahead with this. They then sent me an invoice out for £65 Good (for me)- I found an independent jeweller who didn’t charge me a penny for this service. He did it there and then in front of me and told me anyone who was to charge more than a tenner for what he did would be robbing me.Bad- since wearing my ring again for about 3 weeks, take in mind the service Id originally paid for stated the replating would last for 2-3 years of considerate wear, has already tarnished!Finematter you have absolutely stunning pieces of jewellery for purchase and I acknowledge that your customer service is great. However your prices for repair are crazy considering all of the above! I know I didn’t pay for the replating in the end, however I was about to send you another item across and now Im just so glad I didn’t as I feel like the cost doesn’t match the wear.To anyone considering the replating service, just be wary when sending items for reviving! If you have the intention of wearing something day in day out, it’s probably not going to last as long as you think!
