I was a Fizz customer in 2019 and cancelled my account on 24/01/2020.They told me in 2020 that my account and all data would be deleted after 3 months.I was able to connect to my account on 03/12/2023 and all my personal information is still there. Phone number, email, history and more.I contacted their support and I explained for over 3 hours to their agents that it was illegal to retain my data as I'm not their customer anymore. It's against the Canadian law (ref. Bill C-27).They said they understand that it's against the law but that it's impossible for them to delete non-customer data. They said it'll be automatically deleted in 3 years.But it's been 4 years now. Much longer than the 3 months and one year longer than the 3 years.They're asking me to wait another 3 years. This will be 7 years in total. This is an unbelievable amount of time.I tried negotiating with them and asked for my personal data to be redacted from their database. Remove my phone number and change the email address to another email address I would provide them.They refused! So they are keeping, illegally, non-customer data that the sole owner of the said data have explicitly stated: I refuse for Fizz to keep any of my data on their servers.Fizz is a disgusting sub par company you should avoid at all cost. Their support is mediocre and useless. Don't put a single penny in their pocket.
