Unfair Charges & Deposit Refused — Very Poor ServiceI hired an MG HS from Fleeto (Simple Self Drive) on 11/12/2025. Due to the vehicle being very poor on fuel efficiency which i wasn't advised about, I returned the car early on 17/12/2025 and Fleeto was unable to supply me with another vehicle and then i requested my refundable £250 deposit.That is when Fleeto refused to refund it, claiming that I had breached the contract but i had returned the vehicle on the 6th day of hire. They stated they do not recognise the 14-day cooling-off period and then added unfair charges, saying I must pay for an extra two weeks after the vehicle had already been returned.What makes this worse is that their own agreement does not state anything about having to pay additional weeks after returning the car, nor does it clearly explain why a refundable deposit can be withheld in this situation.Customer service was extremely poor — dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to provide clear explanations or point to any valid contract clause. Charges were added after the vehicle was handed back, which feels completely unjustified.In my opinion, this company operates in a misleading and unfair way and ignores UK consumer laws and regulations. Based on my experience, this feels like a scam, where deposits are withheld using questionable claims of “breach of contract”.I strongly advise others to be very cautious and keep all written evidence before dealing with Fleeto (Simple Self Drive).Choose your self a more responsible firm instead of this company that makes its own rules my advice to Uber drivers.
