Well I have just purchased this item to replace a 9 year old previous version of the same. Upon assembly and test it failed to run. Disassembled and rebuilt, failed to run. Hmmm not an auspicious start. Tried for third time lucky it worked then stopped, at this point I should have packed it up and sent it back, but the engineer in me forced me to investigate. Unlike the previous model, one has to attach the impellor protection grill by means of rotating anf locking into place with a retained sprung thumb screw. The problem here is that there is a lug on said grill that is supposed to locate into a tiny slot that houses a micro switch. This is to stop the unit being powered up without said grill ( or vac bag as that to has similar lug to actuate micro switch) , I could see that the lug was fouling on the moulding therefore preventing it to slot in . A slight bend and in it went and the tool powered up. This is a less than ideal arrangement. I am all for safety but any device fitted to improve safety has to be fit for purpose. On first real use, I noticed how flimsy the plastic handle is, due to the reduced thickness and/or properties of the moulded part. The previous Orange Flymo (now red ) was more substantial, yes it added to the weight but frankly a little more weight and 9 years use seemed a small trade off. This will not last 9 years and probably won't make it through the 2 year warranty
