Car went into the Garage with Front nearside damage. New wing, wheel and bumper was replaced/repaired. Car was delivered to my address with a noise which could only be described as a tambourine going off above 20 miles an hour. Within 45 mins I contacted FMG slough and was told to bring the car in. After speaking to the Manager in person and telling him about the issue he brought out the mechanic who had worked on my car and told me the mechanic would come out with me on a test drive to listen to where the noise was coming from. As soon as I explained the noise the mechanic went to the Front nearside wing bent down and tapped the metal shield behind the disc brake where the work had taken place and then told me that this was the issue. He also said the damage was due to where and tare and had nothing to do with what FMG had done. However, as I explained to him when the car came in the car was driveable and did not make any noise whatsoever and drove perfectly despite being involved in an accident. At this point another gentleman from FMG came out so it ended up 3 against 1 which was rather intimidating for me. After having a brief discussion where I did keep my cool but pushed the issues across, I was told that they would have to contact my insurance company to put a claim in to replace the faulty part which I found out later to my surprise only cost £27. I contacted my insurance, and a complaint was made against FMG which in all honestly has gone nowhere. Despite speaking to my insurance company and FMG about this on several occasions I have basically given up getting them to put the car right which is what they wanted me to do. I have had no further contact from FMG or my insurance company about this issue and after two weeks of trying I have brought the part and replaced what FMG have damaged myself. The car became undrivable in the end because the noise from the loose part drowned out the engine, the AC and the radio all at the same time. When I took the wheel off the brake shield came off in my hand. I would not recommend this garage. They were not very unhelpful. They knew about this fault and returned the car to me in that condition. I wonder if they would turn a blind eye to a safety concern as well.
