Overall, the bed is of good quality; however, there are several important factors to consider that are not clearly explained in the advertisement.The reformer is very heavy and extremely difficult to manoeuvre on a daily basis. I bought mine after discussing it with the Fold team, who confirmed that this was how it was designed to function — but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Initially, I thought I might not be using it correctly or wasn’t strong enough, but there are clear design issues.Another factor to consider is the height limitation as the overall platform is short. I’m 5'7", and I cant perform some exercises, such as the full plank(the carriage reaches the end). This is definitely something potential buyers should be aware of.Regarding the springs, the reformer comes with 2 red, 2 green, and 1 yellow. The red ones are supposed to be the heaviest, but that’s not really the case (perhaps fine for beginners, but not for intermediate or advanced users). When following videos that require heavier resistance, I often have to keep adjusting — which is frustrating — and it’s difficult to find the right combination. With all springs attached, leg work still doesn’t feel very challenging.Another issue is with the black straps. Because of their positioning, when not in use they often need to be removed and placed outside the frame; otherwise, they get stuck under the carriage and block movement. The placement could have been designed much better.Overall, for such an expensive machine, I don’t think it’s worth the price. I would have preferred to invest in a model from a brand that specialises in professional studio reformers.When I was considering buying this, all the reviews I found were only positive. Some people even suggested that negative reviews were removed. So I’m simply sharing a few points that I wish someone had mentioned before I made the investment — things you might want to consider before purchasing.Edit in response to the company’s reply:They suggested that both red springs — which are outsourced — are likely faulty and offered replacements. I do question of the chances that both springs are defective? And if the red ones are faulty, does this mean the green ones are faulty as well? For users who are not beginners, in my view this remains a significant limitation for stronger workouts.For the ropes, they recommended a few fixes, but none of them worked. They also offered to replace the damaged ropes, but that still doesn’t address the underlying design issue that causes them to get stuck under the carriage.Regarding the height limitations, removing the backstops adds around 5 cm, but this still does not resolve the overall restriction for taller users.As for the machine’s mobility, the company denied that there is an issue — despite acknowledging that they had received similar feedback from other users, which led to the major design change in the newer model (a key selling point). Beyond offering replacements for the allegedly faulty parts, they essentially closed the discussion on all the concerns I raised.
