Last week I downloaded the Freemake movie maker & a few days later my credit card was charged $68.93 for a 'megapack'. I don't even know what that is & nor did I have any need for anything else other than the free software. Apparently there was a 'trial period' not for the Freemake movie maker....but for something I'm not even aware of. I instantly disputed the transaction & I'll see if they actually refund my money. I believe what they did was illegal & they know it. I wonder how many others were unaware of the charge or didn't bother disputing it..? Steer clear of Freemake, they WILL take your money without you knowing...Freemake have responded to my complaint, offering a reason for the charge. Freemake movie maker is free software, what subscription are they referring to & why would I need to cancel it if I'm just downloading the free software..? They also mentioned the 'check out'...? Again...I'm not purchasing anything..!! They are being deceitful & sneaky. At the very least, they could have it in BOLD WRITING that your credit card may be charged if you dont perform a specific action. I'm not new to purchasing things online but this is the first time in 25 years that my card has been charged in this manner..
