Before joining VCA / Green Fit Club I was in decent physical shape. I had good consistent gym habits in place, and I did not eat the standard American diet. I have been mostly vegan for 10+ years. However, I did not have the nutritional knowledge to support my fitness goals. I had never paid attention to macros and as a vegan, my protein intake was too low to support the weight lifting I wanted to do and the muscle I wanted to build. After joining the program, learning to lift with intensity, and adjusting my nutrition per the guidelines of my amazing coach Marta, I really started to see progress in all my lifts. I've been building muscle, seeing definition in my back, shoulders, chest, arms, and abs. I can feel big changes in my legs and glutes too, and I'm looking forward to seeing additional changes there - and with this program and the guidance of my coach, I know I will. What I'm really excited about, in addition to the physical changes, are the skills I'm developing to fuel and nourish my body. Since joining the program, my calorie intake has only increased, and I continue to see body recomposition (losing fat and gaining muscle). I would not have been able to accomplish this on my own as I would not have known when to and how much to increase my calories. Also, I was not doing progressive overload effectively.I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to improve their fitness, particularly if you are vegan, vegetarian, or a flexible eater. I would recommend listening to Fritz's podcast "Plant-based Fitness Secrets Podcast" to get a flavor of the support and accountability this program offers. It is an investment, but so many members have experienced invaluable changes in their health and lifestyles that will impact them for the rest of their lives. The three pronged approach of resistance training, correct and personalized nutrition, and accountability to make this a lifestyle/identity is a recipe for a permanent change.
