Gasbuddy keeps getting worse over time. They award points to people for posting prices. In order to earn points a lot of posters just post whatever price someone else posts. A lot of the time the prices are very far from the real price. Their disclaimer that they are crowdsourced which could be a valid excuse for all the wrong prices being reported; however, this could be avoided by only allowing the prices to be reported on the app. When a person earns points on the app they have to be within a half mile in order to earn points. When they post on the web I'm not sure how far away they are. If points are only awarded when posting on the app I think you would see a huge improvement in reports of gas prices.
