I ordered a laptop from GC a few years back - it was the perfect laptop and I figured I'd try them again. I picked the same options as before and got this laptop that isn't the full form factor and has no dedicated graphics card as the previous one did, an an 'i7' processor that is bottom of the mark. This machine barely runs medium sized excel sheets and takes 15 seconds to boot.
The worst part is when I contacted support about trading it in and my concerns, I got a multi-page meandering response about how I should be grateful for a 'competitive' laptop that is 'good value'.
The keyboard isn't even printed on correctly.
I don't know why Gadget Centre are like this now. They never used to be - but it seems due to the AI squeeze they're massively downscaling on hardware and trying to save face by gaslighting me into thinking this is normal.
This company has gone downhill, better laptops exist for just a handful of £s more. Avoid.
