I forgot how I came across Gemiini for my 8-year-old son, probably desperate and extremely dissatisfied with the SLP at the school in a school district that has high rating. The SLP even in the IEP meeting said, "I suspect he has issues with his voice box", therefore, let's do AAC device, assuming he can't talk. When everyone around him hears his making sounds and speaking a few words, I turned to his ENT doctor for helps and inquiries a few times. Even they couldn't understand why a SLP would say that and they don't think he is qualified for their voice disorder program. 3 years with the school, he said 2 words that he already knew (we taught him) and forgot 5 words that we taught him before we sent him to the school. After the first week trial with Gemiini starting in mid-June, I immediately noticed the differences, he was making more sounds. I right away subscribed the full year. The Gemiini support (Natalia Gardella) helped me create more videos that specific for my son. He can speak and calls his brother and sister along with "Mama" and "Dada" and things he likes to do and eat. He continues to make more sounds and says more words. He bought back his favorite thing to do which is reading. He would hold the book and read the words he knows, and we help on the words he doesn't know. As of now September 2025, he knows and speaks just about 100 words. Huge progress in 3 months!!If you are a parent who is tired of all the excuses the school gave you. Don't have time to be on the waiting list for an expensive/arrogant SLP outside of school, this is the tool to go for. It completely fits our schedule (mealtime), saves our time (I don't need to create pictures, flash cards and videos), I don't need to keep repeat words (autistic kids need a lot of repetitions), not to mention, I am an immigrate who doesn't speak English like native speakers. The most import, my son likes visual learning. Gemiini's videos focus the words, from showing the pictures related to the word, video clip of conversation using the word, and to focusing on mouth movement at slow and normal speeds, no distracting background. We follow the video clip and save a "reward" aside to encourage my son to remain seated for mealtime and watching Gemiini at least 15 minutes. As he has lunch at school, no video watching is allowed, we make up one session before he goes to bed. We are so grateful with Gemiini and the support team.
