Volunteering with GIVE in Kailua-Kona was honestly one of the best and most meaningful experiences I’ve had. We spent our days doing real hands-on work—helping with native forest restoration, marine debris cleanup, and learning about regenerative farming. It was powerful to see how excited and grateful the local hosts were to have us there, and hearing from Indigenous leaders added so much depth to everything we did.I also made some amazing friends who shared the same passion for giving back and exploring new places. GIVE did a great job of keeping us busy all week. I never felt bored or unsure of what was going on. While a slightly more structured itinerary could’ve been helpful at times, I also really appreciated the free-spirited, go-with-the-flow energy. It made everything feel relaxed and genuine.On top of it all, we had the chance to explore Hawai’i’s beauty through snorkeling, hiking, and stargazing. It was the perfect mix of service, connection, and adventure, I’m so grateful to everyone who made it so special.
