I bought a property in May 2024, and to this day, there are still significant unresolved issues regarding the renovation that was supposed to be managed by the company. The contractor they employed, continuing his father's business, unfortunately displayed a total lack of professionalism. The initial renovation was already a disaster, and my property manager at the time also failed to inspect the work adequately.
Major problems included:
a non-functional furnace
peeling paint
multiple visible defects that were merely covered up instead of being properly addressed.
Just seven months later, the paint began to peel again.
After further complaints, the company agreed to 'take care of it' once more, but nothing happened for over four months. During this period, I received repeated assurances that turned out to be false and are documented.
Eventually, the contractor refused to communicate directly with me. One representative attempted to manage the communication, but after another two months of no progress, I decided to hire my own contractor.
My independent contractor identified serious workmanship issues:
old paint was not removed, merely painted over
the hot water was incorrectly connected to the toilet flush, causing damage
plexiglass was used instead of a proper window
multiple low-cost fixes that resulted in further damage over time.
I spent $3,000 to rectify these issues properly. When I sent the invoice to the representatives, I was informed that their contractor had already been paid and had 'attempted' the work.
In reality, the contractor came three times without any proper scheduling. I repeatedly requested coordination because the tenant works full-time and access needed to be planned. The tenant even arranged for her mother to be present — yet there was still no proper execution.
Since then, communication has completely ceased.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend relying on their renovation or contractor management. If this issue remains unresolved, my lawyer will proceed with formal claims, either in the US or in the UK, where the company operates. Update: After posting, one representative reached out to me and appears to be continuing communication.
