Oh look another 1 star review, surely this won't happen to you..or will it? Don't ignore the bad reviews, don't make the same mistake I did. They are from real people, real every day hard working people who are left out of pocket.AA Warranty is as terrible as it seems. If you think that by purchasing AA Warranty you're protecting yourself, think again. You are throwing money down the drain, they will come up with ANY excuse not to pay up and to make it as hard as possible to claim.Bought a used car roughly 5 months ago, and purchased a 1 Year AA Inspect & Protect costing me £300. The timing chain on this car has been rattling and the car has an oil leak. Both which are noted as being covered under the policy. The warranty company advised the garage to assess the timing chain, this requires the entire engine to come apart which requires labour that they WILL NOT pay for until the required part is assessed. Because of this they put it down to wear and tear! Absolutely ridiculous, this is one of THE MOST important parts of an engine, and it's not covered because they can't look at it, are you kidding me? The garage has made a clear diagnostic that these parts need to be replaced and the warranty company has found a loophole to NOT pay for it. These aren't even serviceable items, there is NOTHING that could have been done to prevent this and it is literally the MAIN selling point for a warranty to cover this part. ENGINE FAILURE. I will chase the warranty company which is underwritten by Motorway Direct (absolutely terrible customer services, people laughing in the background and making noise) and get them to pay up. Failing this I will chase up the dealership and/or take it to court and make everyone aware on all my social media to stay well and truly clear of AA warranty and approved garages.Don't ever purchase AA warranty. They are a marketing campaign for Motorway Direct. It's a shame, because their recovery service is quite good.I will update this review if anything changes. Generic replies to this review saying sorry will not be taken lightly, I want my COVERED parts to be paid for, as set out in my policy.-- Update1 --Car is on 110k, not 120k. Was purchased on 106k.Within 5 months, not 6, I have been notified about these issues. I would have never known if it wasn't for the oil leak. You can't just round-up figures you have from me, that's ridiculous. and AA approved car sold with AA warranty, is not covered by a faulty engine component that will cause catastrophic engine failure? If you are considering AA warranty, listen to the customers here, a company is only as good as their customers. And most of us here are left out of pocket, being sold fake protection plans. Making it think you are protected when you are not.-- Update --By far the worst warranty company I have used. Stay well and truly clear from AA warranty and their subsidiaries.Your response is shambles, you are a fraud to yourself and your customers and it is damaging your brand badly. How dare you categorise every single aspect of my car as "wear and tear". Disgusting.
