I had a brilliant experience with Gotoco in Vietnam. The program was really well-organised, and I felt supported from start to finish. Teaching in local schools was both rewarding and eye-opening—I gained so much confidence and learned to adapt quickly to new situations. I also made great friends through the program and had the chance to really immerse myself in Vietnamese culture, from the food to the festivals. Overall, it was a challenging but unforgettable experience that’s helped me grow personally and professionally.

Gotoco organises summer TEFL placements to promote global student mobility and cultural exchange. We also offer a small number of longer term TEFL fellowship career programmes. Since 2011 we enabled more than 2,000 university students to undertake summer placements across 100 locations all around China. In 2022, we have expanded to cover destinations around the world - primarily Europe, Colombia and Thailand.
We care about accessibility - global adventures should be open to all, and so we minimise fees and give out as many 100% fee-free spots as we can fund.
We are called Gotoco because we aspire to be the 'go-to; for anyone wishing to 'go to' global TEFL adventures! The dictionary defines "go-to" as "someone or something that is regularly or repeatedly chosen or employed for reliably good results"
In our first decade of operations, we focussed on projects in China, we chose to offer TEFL adventures there because it is both a fascinating and nuanced culture, but also it sits at the centre of world news and is a powerhouse behind the global economy.
