We started planning our holiday early in the year and contacted a couple of companies offering gorilla trekking. Donna at The Gorilla Safari Company was by far the most informative, helpful, charming to deal with and most importantly she listened to our needs. The whole way through the booking process, Donna advised us of our choices and kept us constantly up to speed with the chances of getting rooms at the lodges of our choice, permits and even the best available flights. She worked within our budget and closely liaised with her team at Opulent Africa to fulfil our perfect holiday of gorilla trekking in Rwanda and a fabulous week on the beach in Kenya.Our stay in Rwanda was magical. We were extremely fortunate to have a wonderful driver called John who was always there to help us from collecting us at the airport, right through to the end of our stay, he always knew the best places to go to whenever we needed to buy anything and was always happy to take us wherever we wanted to go! He was wonderful, very patient, discreet, and an extremely safe and careful driver. We stayed at Sabyinyo Safari Lodge, a fabulous recommendation from Donna. An extremely comfortable lodge, beautiful rooms, stunning views and wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The lodge is very close to the site where the gorilla groups are allocated which allows for those extra few minutes in bed in the morning!! The gorilla experiences were unbelievable, intimate encounters on both our treks - we were so privileged and very lucky. Our guides were extremely knowledgable and fun and the porters were wonderful and very helpful. This is a once in a lifetime experience, and I couldn't recommend The Gorilla Safari Company enough, to offer a fulfilling and amazing holiday.
