New worktops

Got new granite worktops installed in our new kitchen within last couple of weeks from Hillington branch. There is no doubt the Worktops are very good and the team that fit them know what they're doing. Friendly guys as well. Really fit them well. And they give you plenty advice as to how the Worktops are maintained. The Worktops look excellent.One or 2 downsides which are meant as constructive criticism. The communication we received was poor from GM. Ordered new kitchen from nearby kitchen installers who apparently work well with GM. Popped into GM to see their worktops on recommendation of our joiners. Picked the lovely white shimmer as our choice. From then it went downhill in terms of communication from GM as didn't hear another thing from then until our joiner had to contact them when they were installing the kitchen. No emails no calls to our surprise. I went in one Sunday prior to kitchen being fitted to enquire what deposit was needed and what was needed. I asked for Stuart who is the boss and v friendly. There was an older male and a younger female sitting in the their office who informed me Stuart wasn't it. There was no il take your details and find out what's going on and get Stuart to phone you etc. I was told to phone him tomorrow which was pretty poor and lacking in customer service in any way.On my joiner enquiring where GM were at in terms of setting up the template measurements the fella came out a few days later to do the measurement with the payment to him being done by myself within an hour of carrying out template. Only problem was the gap for whatever reason, that was needed to accommodate the glass splashback was either not included or missed as when kitchen was getting fitted the joiners realised the splashback was not going to fit. Whether this was kitchen company fault or GM I'm not sure but it shouldn't have happened. In any event the kitchen upstand had to be removed a few days after install. And a new custom made splashback ordered. I was told the fitters who were coming out to refit the upstand would be out at 9am on that day....they arrived at 11am. Again a distinct lack of communication as GM had informed kitchen company when they would be out and not us the customers. My wife had to phone GM to ask when they were coming out which added to all the stress of a kitchen install and given they were 2 hours late wasn't good. In summary the communication and efficiency of the reception/admin staff needs to vastly improve as opposed to customers on this occasion being left in the dark as to what was going on etc. Maybe a training issue that hopefully is addressed as I would buy/recommend from GM again as long as the communication is sorted. Iv written this review honestly as GM asked for an honest review. I don't doubt they will be very busy but you seldom get a 2nd chance to make a good 1st impression. Customer service is everything nowadays.
