I am an expat working overseas in Japan. We have special exemptions from the government for earned income exclusions for overseas work. I thought I needed special tax preparation services to handle that but that is not the case. I don't know about this company as a whole but they did not do anything special considering they are a COUPLE HUNDRED dollars more than turbo tax. You would think that you are getting superior service for your money. Every extra form you have to submit is extra money (i.e. rental properties, etc...) I had little to no contact with the accountant who did my taxes and she waited until the a few hours before the deadline to send me my taxes for review. My accountant refused to submit some charitable contributions because she "interpreted" the tax code differently then i did. If she would have told me that in the many weeks proceeding the moment at the end of tax day when she finally decided to send me my return for my review, then i would have used a different service (probably TurboTax and saved a couple hundred dollars). They promote this amazing, quality, and all encompassing service but in reality they suck and they only email you. YOU CANT EVEN HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THE ACCOUNTANT! SERIOUSLY?! ABSOLUTE GARBAGE tax service! She is probably a nice person but their business model and the way my taxes were handled/prepared was bad. Last point is that I have never, ever submitted a review. I have to submit an amendment to my taxes because there is a $7000 difference between what i am owed and what I received. Because of that I am submitting this review. Take heed and use TurboTax... WAY BETTER SERVICE, ONE THIRD THE PRICE!
