I recently changed from having a big garden bag to the smaller Garden Bin for my waist collection. With the garden bag, the collection team took the bag from inside my property and returned the empty bag to inside my property. However, I found out with a wheelie bin, even though I pay extra to have it taken from my property rather than left on the curbside, they take it from the property, but they leave it on the curb. So if you’re going away on collection day, you have to organizing someone else to bring your bin in. I rang the company and said they need to make it clear that when you pay extra to have a property collection that it’s actually only a one-way collection they’re explanation was that before emptying your bin a team member from the company comes and takes all the bins out to the curb. A truck then picks a bin up from a curb, but the driver doesn’t get out of the truck therefore it is only returned to the curb. If there is no team member that returns them to the Property. I’ve said to the company that I will be checking the website to make sure that they have changed their advertised wording to make it clear to customers that when they pay for property pick up that there is no returning of the bin to the property.
When I did want or try to make my complaint via email through the portals that they recommend none of them were active. This has frequently occurred for me. A company that has misleading information and very difficult to communicate with other than a phone call in their limited office hours.
