I've been buying tires from Grip500 for several years and never had any problems. Until recently, when I decided to try the new Roadhog RGAS02 225/55 ZR17 all-season tires. I decided to order them because of the tread pattern I saw in the photo on the Grip500 product page. To my surprise, I received tires with a completely different tread pattern. Yes, they were Roadhog RGAS02 225/55 ZR17, but they looked completely different from the photo on the website. I emailed customer service to ask why the tires I received didn't match the advertised photo, and Grip500 responded, "The photos are for information only." Frankly, I was shocked, because everyone knows that tire tread pattern is also an important factor when choosing tires. Different patterns mean different grip, fuel consumption, noise levels, etc. They should have at least indicated this on their website, but they didn't.
I checked what Google says about this: "When a company displays a different, usually superior or inaccurate, photo on a website to sell a product compared to what is actually shipped, it is commonly called misleading advertising or a deceptive marketing practice."
After exchanging emails with Grip500, they clearly stated that I would have to pay for the return: "Items must be returned in their original packaging and inside another box to avoid damaging the original manufacturer's packaging. They must be returned via a shipping service of your choice, at your expense, and received at the original warehouse within 14 business days of the delivery date (you must use a return shipping method with proof of delivery; otherwise, it will not be possible to verify the return and the merchandise will not be refunded).
3/ If the items were delivered with packaging, they must be returned in their original packaging, in perfect condition. If the packaging is damaged, the refund will be refused.
4/ Returned items must be in perfect condition. If they are damaged, the refund will be refused."
They didn't even bother to apologize. I will obviously no longer use Grip500, and I advise anyone who does decide to buy from them to make sure the photo on their website is an ACTUAL PHOTO of the product before placing an order.
