Bad experience with them

Bad experience with them. Me and my Australian wife recently married and planned to settle in the uk. My wife didn't have her visa yet but was assured by the immigration lawyers it will go through. We have a lot of money in the bank from sale of a house which helped with the visa application. Well we found our dream house through Grisdales. It was a rental and exactly what we always wanted. Lovely house in the countryside. Even though Grisdales knew the situation about my wife's visa and the fact it still hadn't come through they proceeded to tell us that out of everyone that applied the house was ours. They even had someone called Goodlord call us offering to set up our council tax and broadband etc because we have been green ticked and have a move in date. Next thing they ask for my wife's biometric code from her visa application. We don't get that until the application goes through. So they wouldn't give us the house until that happens. Even though they knew the circumstances and already offered us the house. We tried to stall it a while because it was still going to take some time for the code to come through. But it got closer to the move in date and we asked could they just put me on the tenancy instead then my wife go back to Australia until we have all the relevant documents and she is allowed to stay there. She wanted to go back and see her family for a few weeks anyway. We even offered the entire 6 months rent and security deposit upfront if it helped. They then proceeded to tell the owner of the house not to let us have it and to put it back on the market. Then lied and told us it was the landlords decision. The landlord already said he was happy with it still if grisdales were because he lets them sort it all out. That way he doesn't have to and gives him security. They make all the decisions for him. And he was happy for us to still move in as long as they were. He liked us. So now we're in Airbnb's longer than we had to be. We had just got back to the uk and was in airbnbs waiting for the property move in date through grisdales, paying upto £500-£600 a week and not looking for another rental because was told we had that one, and now still stuck at airbnbs because of all this. Grisdales have cost us 1000's. Lucky enough we seem to have a new rental lined up for the 18th next month. The Landlord seems nice and has let us put a deposit down so seems good. My wife is still going back to australia for a couple of weeks if everything hasn't come through by then to make sure everything is above board before residing there. But for now we're still stuck in airbnbs till then thanks to grisdales. Very unprofessional and cost us a lot of money unnecessarily
